This is film of the “Rock of Ages” recording: never knew it existed. What great shots of Levon Helm (the only non-Canadian) from behind, so that you can see that amazing pedal work he does. That’s a really intricate but driving beat he’s laying down … not to mention he’s singing the damn song! Thanks for posting.

A lesson for all today’s shitty little bands on what ten years of sheer fucking hard graft, practice, constant gigging and talent can produce. But it takes intelligence to take an already great song and put your own stamp on it and you can’t buy that.
